Unqualified Teaching Assistant (SEND)

AK Teaching is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Unqualified Teaching Assistants in a local SEN (Special Educational Needs) school in Blyth.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience working in a supportive and rewarding environment, supporting children with additional needs from Primary through to Secondary age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the classroom teacher in delivering engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils.
  • Work with students in small groups or 1:1 to support their learning and personal development.
  • Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction among pupils.
  • Help with personal care tasks, where necessary, to ensure the well-being of students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a school setting or working with children is highly beneficial.
  • Must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Passion for working with children with SEN, with patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
  • Flexibility to work with a range of ages from Primary to Secondary.
