AK Teaching is seeking passionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join our team of bank staff, providing vital support to schools in Blyth and the surrounding areas.
This is a flexible, part-time role, perfect for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or group support to students with SEND across a range of ages, from Early Years to Secondary.
Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and adapting lesson materials to suit each student’s needs.
Support the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
Offer assistance with personal care where necessary, fostering a positive and safe classroom atmosphere.
Requirements:
A passion for working with learners with SEND is essential.
An enhanced DBS check on the update service is required, or applicants must be willing to apply and pay for one through AK Teaching.
Previous experience working in a school setting is highly beneficial but not essential.
Applicants should be open to morning calls, often at short notice, to cover sickness and other absences.
A qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare is desirable but not essential.
