Learning Support Assistant (SEN)

AK Teaching is seeking dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistants to join an SEND provision in Blyth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support students’ learning and development.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities to meet individual student needs.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility, if required.

Requirements:

  • A valid and enhanced DBS on the update service or a willingness to apply for one through AK Teaching.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and prior experience working with students with special needs, especially in a school setting.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work with students of varying ages, from primary to secondary level.
  • Compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude towards supporting students with SEND.
