AK Teaching, a leading education recruitment agency, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team in Blyth.
This role involves supporting secondary aged learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and challenging behaviours.
Your primary responsibility will be to assist in managing and improving student behaviour to create a conducive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide behaviour support to students with SEND, including ASD and ADHD.
Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans.
Work closely with teachers to deliver tailored interventions.
Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere.
Assist in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs).
Support students during lessons, break times, and extracurricular activities.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to monitor and support student progress.
Requirements:
An enhanced DBS on the update service is required, or a willingness to apply for one through AK Teaching.
Prior experience working with challenging behaviours is highly beneficial.
A passion for working with children and young people with SEND.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
