Sports Coach

AK Teaching is a reputable education recruitment agency committed to providing high-quality educational staffing solutions. We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Sports Coach to join our team, working within alternate provision settings in and around Newcastle and Northumberland.

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Sports Coach to support secondary-aged learners who may exhibit challenging behaviours.

This role involves not only coaching sports but also providing classroom-based support to assist with functional skills. The ideal candidate will have the ability to engage and inspire students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging sports coaching sessions tailored to the needs of secondary-aged learners.
• Develop and implement strategies to manage and positively influence challenging behaviours.
• Provide classroom support, assisting with functional skills to enhance students’ overall educational experience.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
• Monitor and report on student progress, adapting approaches as necessary to meet individual needs.

Requirements:

• A sports-based qualification (essential).
• Experience working with secondary-aged learners, particularly those who exhibit challenging behaviours (highly beneficial).
• Confidence in managing and positively influencing challenging behaviours.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through AK Teaching.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
