About the Role: AK Teaching is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team and work in a special needs provision based in Amble. This rewarding role involves supporting learners from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to Key Stage 2 (KS2).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Support classroom teachers in creating an inclusive learning environment
Work closely with other professionals, including speech therapists and occupational therapists
Foster a safe, positive, and engaging learning atmosphere
Requirements:
Prior experience working with SEND learners is essential
Previous experience in a school or nursery setting
A qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare is highly desirable
Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one through AK Teaching
