Are you a dedicated Science Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) seeking a rewarding opportunity to work within a Special Educational Needs provision? AK Teaching is currently recruiting for a passionate and experienced Science Teacher to join our team on a temporary supply basis, supporting secondary-aged learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH), and other challenging behaviours.

Role Overview:
As a Science Teacher working on supply within our Special Educational Needs provision, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with diverse learning needs. You will deliver engaging and inclusive Science lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other challenging behaviours, fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated Science lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, taking into account the diverse needs and abilities of students.
  • Utilise a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage students and promote active participation in learning.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, providing encouragement, support, and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and support staff to ensure the holistic development and well-being of students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents/carers and external agencies as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
  • Experience working with secondary-aged students with Special Educational Needs, particularly ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and challenging behaviours.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science, with the ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students with complex needs.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards working in a dynamic educational environment.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
