Job Description
AK Teaching is seeking dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistants to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The successful candidates will provide essential personal care and support to ensure students’ well-being and participation in school activities.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care:
Assist students with daily activities such as toileting, dressing, and feeding.
Provide support with mobility and physical exercises.
Ensure the personal hygiene and comfort of students.
Educational Support:
Assist students in classroom activities and educational tasks as directed by teachers.
Implement individualised care plans in collaboration with the SENCO and teaching staff.
Follow Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) for students meeting the tasks and requirements for the student.
Health Monitoring:
Monitor and report on students’ health and well-being.
Administer medication and first aid as required.
Collaboration:
Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to care and education.
Participate in meetings and training sessions as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Relevant Qualifications: Certification in personal care, healthcare, or a related field.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in an educational setting, is highly desirable.
