AK Teaching are looking for a learning support assistant to join one of our partnered schools in the HD5, Huddersfield area.

To be successful for this role you will need to

  • Working with vulnerable children and adults with special educational needs including AD, ADHD, SEMH and more. The ideal candidate would be both determined to help pupils develop and achieve the best of their ability.
  • You will need to build relationships and assist the development of pupils that require extra support. It is your job to create a supportive environment for young people and assist them to have access to learning and to interact with one another.
  • You will be supporting pupils as a group and on a 1 to 1 basis.
  • SEN experience to suite diverse types of students and learning. Or a passion to help students that need extra assistance, have access to a suitable education.
  • Positive consistent and pro- active approach to behaviour management skills.
  • An overall cheerful outlook, enthusiasm, energy, and a nurturing nature.
  • Ability to differentiate different learning needs.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • The age range can vary from 2-19 so being flexible with a range of ages is beneficial.
  • You will be working full time Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30am-4:00pm.
  • Ideally you will have a DBS on the update service, or one issued within the last year. If your DBS is not on the update service, you will need to get a new one. We will assist you to get a DBS.
