AK Teaching West Yorkshire are working with a partner special school catering for children aged 2 – 19 with varying needs such as CMLN (Complex and Multiple Learning Needs), moderate or severe learning difficulties, social, emotional mental health needs (SEMH) or autism in the Pudsey area of Leeds who are looking for a variety of support assistants to join their team.
The ideal LSA:
Must have an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the update service (we can support you in applying for one)
Must be a patient and reliable
Have a passion to work with pupils with SEN
Be able to work well in a team
Willing to upskill themselves with our free online training
Should be able to empathise with their pupils and be able to set a good example
The Role:
Support pupils in accessing learning activities as directed by the teacher
Support for pupils for personal care, independence and personal, social and emotional development
Ensure the maintenance of a clean and orderly working environment
Timely and accurate preparation of routine equipment/resources/materials as set out in instructions
Undertake basic record keeping as directed
Assist the teacher with learning activities ensuring health and safety and good behaviour of pupils
Provide clerical/admin support e.g. photocopying, printing, display, collection and recording of money etc
Provide support for the personal care/ personal, social and emotional development of pupils as appropriate
CONTRACT DETAILS:
Location – LS28, Leeds Position – Learning Support Assistant (SEN) Contract or position start date – ASAP Duration/Likely Duration – Ongoing Full time/part time – Full time Minimum rate £85 per day Hours – 8:30 – 15:30
