AK Teaching are looking for a learning support assistant to join one of our partnered schools in the Leeds area.

 

Job Role

You will be working full time Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30am-4:00pm, no working weekends or school holidays! This role will involve working with vulnerable children and adults with special educational needs including AD, ADHD, SEMH and more. The ideal candidate would be both determined to help pupils develop and achieve the best of their ability.

You will be required to support the class teacher when it comes to delivering lessons, this may include delivering lesson plans to specific young people or to host the lesson to a group of young people or on a 1 to 1 basis.

Within this role you will need to build relationships and assist the development of pupils that require extra support. It is your job to create a supportive environment for young people as you assist them to have access to learning.

The age range can vary from 2-19 so being flexible with a range of ages is beneficial. Through education, we enable young people to gain the skills and resilience they need to succeed in life beyond school, inspiring the brightest future.

To be successful in this role you will need

-Experience to suite different types of students and learning.  Or a passion to help students that need extra assistance, have access to a suitable education.

-Ability to differentiate different learning needs.

-Positive consistent and proactive approach behavior management skills.

-An overall positive attitude, enthusiasm, energy, and a nurturing nature.

-Good verbal communication.

-Ideally you will have a DBS on the update service, or one issued within the last year. If your DBS is not on the update service, you will need to get a new one. We will assist you to get a new DBS if necessary.
