ECT’S AND PGCE STUDENTS!

AK Teaching are working in partnership with Primary Schools based in Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland and Gateshead. Together we are looking to recruit a number of ECT’s who will be fully vetted/cleared and ready to interview for September 2023 job roles in their schools. September may seem like a long time off but for SLT in schools, it is already a major focus.

Delaying the process could result in you missing much of the teaching roles that schools will soon be advertising!

To be considered for these magnificent opportunities, ideally you will be a current PGCE student or hold ECT status:

• Have experience working with primary aged learners in some capacity whether voluntary or paid.
• Have flexible availability and be able to work within an ever changing environment.
• Have the ability to use public transport or have their own vehicle.
• Experience leading and delivering planned work to group of children aged 5-11.
• The ability to manage challenging behaviour.
• A calm and punctual manner – excellent time keeping.
• A fully enhanced DBS certificate on the DBS update service (can be applied for through AK Teaching).

Although we have clients across the whole of the North East, I am specifically looking for current PGCE students and ECT’s that live and want to work in TYNESIDE & NORTHUMBERLAND. Right now we are seeing such a teacher shortage that many of our ECT’s are securing security almost instantly – 2-3 years ago this just did not happen. It was also a case of SLT telling us, “can they go away and get more experience”. Those days have gone and this is a great time to be an ECT in and around TYNESIDE & NORTHUMBERLAND.

A large majority of our schools have easy access to public transport, for those who do not drive!
