AK Teaching are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Worker to join in supporting students within our partner schools. As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work closely with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and safe learning environment that promotes student success and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to identify students in need of behaviour support.
Conduct assessments and observations to understand students’ behaviour patterns and needs.
Provide direct support and interventions to students experiencing behavioural challenges, both in classroom settings and other school environments.
Teach and reinforce positive behaviour skills through modeling, coaching, and encouragement.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on students’ progress and collaborate on behaviour management strategies.
Participate in team meetings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing training related to behaviour support and student well-being.
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to behaviour support services provided.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children or adolescents in educational or behavioural support settings.
Strong understanding of behaviour management principles and strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to support the well-being and success of all students.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing student needs and school environments.
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations (preferred).
Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (if required to travel between school sites).
