About the Role:

AK Teaching is seeking dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistants to join our team at a secondary SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school in Blyth. This role requires strong behaviour management skills and the ability to thrive in a challenging environment. Experience supporting individuals in similar settings is highly beneficial and desired.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide behaviour support to secondary-aged learners
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • Foster a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Manage challenging behaviour effectively and calmly
  • Support students with their emotional and social development

Requirements:

  • Resilience and strong behaviour management skills
  • Experience working in challenging environments supporting individuals
  • Comfortable working with secondary-aged learners
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply and pay for one through AK Teaching
  • Supporting Teaching and Learning qualifications are highly encouraged
