AK Teaching is seeking dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Assistants to join our team at a secondary SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school in Blyth. This role requires strong behaviour management skills and the ability to thrive in a challenging environment. Experience supporting individuals in similar settings is highly beneficial and desired.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide behaviour support to secondary-aged learners
Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
Foster a safe and supportive learning environment
Manage challenging behaviour effectively and calmly
Support students with their emotional and social development
Requirements:
Resilience and strong behaviour management skills
Experience working in challenging environments supporting individuals
Comfortable working with secondary-aged learners
An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply and pay for one through AK Teaching
Supporting Teaching and Learning qualifications are highly encouraged
