AK Teaching is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Unqualified Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEND provision based in Ashington. This role involves working closely with teachers and other staff members to provide tailored support to children with SEND.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering personalized educational programs for students with SEND, adapting materials and activities to suit individual needs.
  • One-on-One Assistance: Provide direct support to students, helping them to understand and complete tasks, and encouraging their engagement and participation.
  • Behaviour Management: Help manage classroom behavior, using positive reinforcement and strategies tailored to the needs of children with SEND.
  • Resource Preparation: Assist in the preparation and organization of learning materials and resources to support lesson plans.
  • Monitoring Progress: Observe and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and participating in meetings to discuss individual student needs.
  • Inclusive Environment: Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members to support the overall development and well-being of students.

Requirements:

  • DBS Clearance: An enhanced DBS on the update service is required, or applicants must be willing to apply and pay for one through AK Teaching.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work with a wide range of ages and adapt to different classroom settings as needed.
  • Experience: While no formal qualifications are required, experience in a similar setting is highly desirable. Those with qualifications in Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare are encouraged to apply.
