AK Teaching is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) to join our team at a reputable school in Hexham. This role provides a rewarding chance to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs.
Enhanced DBS on the update service: All applicants must have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service, or be willing to apply for one through AK Teaching.
Level 2/3 supporting teaching and learning or childcare qualification: Candidates with a relevant qualification are encouraged to apply. This could include a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning or childcare.
Prior experience in an SEND setting: The ideal candidate should have practical experience working in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting. Familiarity with supporting a range of needs is highly desirable.
Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Contribute to the overall pastoral care and well-being of students.
Monday to Friday (no weekends)
