About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Functional Skills Tutor to join the team at a leading Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) college. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality functional skills education (Maths, English, and ICT) to learners with diverse needs, helping them to develop essential life skills and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Functional Skills (Maths, English, and ICT) to students with SEND.
Plan and prepare schemes of work and lesson plans that are tailored to meet individual needs.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support continuous development.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
Experience working in a school or college setting, preferably with SEND students.
Strong understanding of functional skills curriculum and the ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learning needs.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach.
