Behaviour Support Assistant (SEMH)

AK Teaching, a leading education recruitment agency, is seeking dedicated and experienced Behaviour Support Assistants to join our team and work in Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) provisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized behaviour plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to address challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Promote the social and emotional development of students.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid DBS check on the update service, or be willing to apply for a new one through AK Teaching.
  • Prior experience working with challenging behaviours is essential due to the nature of the provisions.
  • Flexibility in working with different age groups within the SEMH provisions.
  • Supporting teaching and learning or childcare qualifications are highly desirable.
